Abstract

Diese Studie untersucht den Identitätsverlust, die soziale Entfremdung und die symbolischen Bedeutungen des Motivs der Verwandlung, indem Ovids Metamorphosen und Kafkas Die Verwandlung durch eine thematische Analyse verglichen werden. In Ovids mythologischer Erzählung wird die Verwandlung als göttliche Strafe oder Belohnung dargestellt; in Kafkas modernem Ansatz wird sie als Identitätskrise behandelt, die die Entfremdung des Individuums von sozialen Normen und familiären Zwängen widerspiegelt. In beiden Werken ist die formale Metamorphose mit einem Verlust der Identität und der Infragestellung des Zugehörigkeitsgefühls verbunden. In Ovids Geschichten wird die kafkaeske Gefangenschaft der Charaktere in Tiergestalt bei gleichzeitiger Bewahrung ihres menschlichen Geistes mit der natürlichen Ordnung und moralischen Strafe in Verbindung gebracht, während in Kafkas Roman Gregor Samsas Verwandlung in ein Insekt die Mechanismen der modernen kapitalistischen Gesellschaft symbolisiert, die das Individuum objektivieren. Ziel der Studie ist es zu zeigen, wie das Motiv der Verwandlung die existenziellen Widersprüche der Menschheit und deren Wechselwirkung mit sozialen Dynamiken widerspiegelt, und seine Entwicklung von der antiken Mythologie bis zur modernen Literatur nachzuzeichnen. Der abschließende Teil der Studie argumentiert, dass beide Texte das Symbol der Verwandlung nicht nur als körperliche Veränderung behandeln, sondern auch als universelle Metapher, die die Fragilität des Selbst betont.
